The Jersey Shore
just a few suggestions…since everyone has their favorite beaches!
Keansburg Amusement Park
This is the way amusement parks should be. No flashy chains and commercialized vendors. Located right on the shore in Keansburg, cute rides for all ages and an old-fashioned boardwalk attract visitors. Restaurants and food stands serve everything from ice cream to “boardwalk fries” and zeppoles to full service meals like fresh fish, Italian entrées or classic boardwalk sausage sandwiches. Arcades house all sorts of games from old fashion skeeball to multi- techno arcade games. For the fishermen, the 2500 foot fishing pier is open seven days a week.
Right across the street is Runaway Rapids Waterpark, adding to the fun in the area. A great little park in a cute little town, Keansburg is great, original amusement park fun.

LBI
Long Beach Island is an area in Ocean County known for being more residential as opposed to the other beaches like Seaside Heights and Point Pleasant, which are more touristy. LBI draws a more family-oriented crowd generally, since there is no boardwalk. However, LBI is also diverse, with areas like Surf City which has several shops and restaurants, and Harvey Cedars, a more intimate residential community. The Barnegat Lighthouse is a famous attraction located along the Barnegat Inlet in the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, which includes hiking trails. You arrive at LBI by taking Route 72, crossing the Dorland J. Henderson Memorial Bridge, known as “The Causeway.” The bridge is famous for the lamps lining the railings which glow at night to welcome travelers. As part of the culture of LBI, summer residents will shout, “Woohoo!” with their windows down upon arrival, and “Boohoo!” when they leave as they cross the bridge back to the mainland of New Jersey. A notable attraction is the original Ron Jon Surf Shop.
Point Pleasant
One of the most popular shore towns in Ocean County, Point Pleasant offers miles of beach, a fun and bustling boardwalk, and a fairly large residential area for both local residents and seasonal visitors. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk offers everything from an aquarium to shops specializing in ice cream waffles to the traditional arcade complete with Dance Dance Revolution. Games and snacks on the boardwalk are typical Jersey: you’ve got your boardwalk fries with malt vinegar, over twenty varieties of fudge, Kohr’s ice cream stands, skeeball, dart games, and basketball games for stuffed animal prizes.
